Goodbye, 2009. It's been fun?

Anna and I went on a date today.  An all day date.  We intended on driving up to Fairhaven (where we had our Honeymoon), left at 10:30, but got distracted by an outlet mall and never made it all the way up.  But we had such a great day!  And then, to top it all off, we finally went to a buffet at a local casino.  It was great, I pretty much stayed within my Caloric goals.  One problem, though, was that it was a casino on tribal grounds, and that meant that there was indoor smoking (you see, in Washington State, indoor smoking is banned)--not fun for us.  Some of you might like to smoke, but I don't like it all.  In fact, my mom smoked for 40 years before she passed away.  Yuck. 


But, here are the photos of my three plates from the buffet (with a list of my calories--I tried to overestimate):

  • 150 Cal- 1 Small slice pizza
  • 140 Cal- 7 small pieces orange chicken
  • 120 Cal- 3 pot sticker
  • 70 Cal- 1 crab rangoon
  • 240 Cal- 2 small egg rolls
  • 140 Cal- 3 oz steamed salmon
  • 35 Cal- 1/2 cup artichoke hearts
  • 200 Cal- Salads: Spinach (1 oz), baby corn (1/4 cup), kidney beans (2 tbsp), 2 sliced pickled beets, 1/4 cup shredded carrots, 3oz spring greens, 15 cherry tomatoes, red wine vinegar
  • 50 Cal- 1/4 cup cottage cheese
  • 30 Cal- 1 sauteed button mushroom
  • 150 Cal- 2oz roast beef
  • 60 Cal- 1 cream puff
  • 80 Cal- 1 tiny eclair
  • 80 Cal- 3/4 small cheesecake

Saturday: no clue...let's say 3,000 Calories (way over-estimating)
Sunday: 2,250 Calories

Happy New Year Beej! Sounds like you had a great day with your family. I agree with you completely on the indoor smoking -- so foul. It's a relief that smoking inside is now banned in NYC. Before that, I could rarely go inside a restaurant or bar without getting a headache.

Congrats on all your hard work and focus this past year -- you are an inspiration!

Great job on the buffet and nice pics!

Boo to the smoke, I would not have been able to stand it. I quit smoking almost 12 years ago. Gross!!!

While I don't smoke and never have, it doesn't seem to bother me too much, at least not at the time I am around it. Who knows what it is doing to me though.
