Detente

I did have fun at my company's party, but I'm also very glad that I'm able to be back in the gym on a consistent basis.  Now, really, I'm not like an addict or anything.  I promise.  Seriously.  I have a relationship with the gym that can best be defined as detente.  I don't love it, and I don't hate it, but I'm willing to work with it. And I'm willing to spend time with the gym--but it will never convince me that it's totally good.  You know what I mean?  But it is nice to be back on the treadmill...on the elliptical...on the stairmaster (?).  It really has become a habit for me.  And though I don't love the place, I do realize that I need it--it really does great things for me!  What's your relationship with exercise/the gym?  Do you love it?  Do you like it?  Do you "humor" it?  Or do you really hate it?

As you know, I'm taking a break on the whole TwEATs thing for a couple of weeks--it's a little too much of an interruption right now. If I suck it up on my weigh-ins, I'll start it back up.

Many folks tell me that they get a 'high' from the gym, that I'll become addicted. I'm nowhere near that place. I can't say I totally dread going, but I have been treating it as a necessary evil of sorts...

I can't say I love it, but I do love how I feel after I exercise.

I do like to exercise. I don't like the pain it sometimes causes.

I'm starting to love mine, believe it or not. I feel so comfortable there...and productive. I have a hard time working out at home because there I have my husband and daughters and I'd easily get distracted. I know that if I go to the gym I'm going to be 100% focused on what I'm there for.
