The accuracy of GPS

So, I've had the t-mobile g1 for a few months now, and I love it.  It's kinda like the iPhone's nerdy cousin.  But, of course, I just need to be a little different, so I got that.  Plus, I'm really happy with T-Mobile in my area.  Okay, aside from the plug for the g1, what I really like is that I found a cool app for it called CardioTrainer.  It uses Google Maps and my phone's GPS to track my walks (distance, speed, etc...).  It turns out that my 3-mile walks are actually 3.5-mile walks!  So instead of a 20 minute mile rate, I'm actually at about 16:30 per mile.  Not marathon rates by any means, but still good for walking (that's about 3.6 miles an hour)!  That was a fun realization.

On top of that, today, Anna and I had our date!  It was a quick date of going out to sushi, but I sure had fun with her--I always do!  I think I may try to go out with her again on Friday, but we'll have to see how the week shapes up.

By the way, I don't think we'll finish the kitchen by Friday, but probably by Sunday, and that's not too bad!  I swear, pics will be up once we're moved back in.

Complete up to Monday:
1- 20 minute session on the Elliptical
1- 20 minute session on the Treadmill
1- 10 minute session on the Stairmaster
1- 3.5 Mile walk
90 sit ups
1 set of 2- 60 second planks
Read the Bible
Pray Daily
Go on a date with Anna

Remaining:

4- 20 minute sessions on the Elliptical
4- 20 minute sessions on the Treadmill
4- 10 minute sessions on the Stairmaster
2- 3.5 Mile walks
120 sit ups
3 sets of 2- 60 second planks
Read the Bible
Pray Daily
Go on a 24-hour fast
Finish the kitchen remodel

Beej, I'm glad to read you got the date in.

BTW, I love the GPS feature on my Blackberry. I use a similar program to track my walks, and I love it. Just don't make the mistake of thinking it will work on a treadmill! :-)

I have a Sprint Instinct, which might be the I-touch's 3rd cousin twice removed. ;-) It came with a gps navigation feature which gives directions, maps, etc but I haven't figured out how to get it track distance yet. I should look for an app! I never thought of that. It's cool that you're actually walking faster than you thought you were! YAY!

I don't have a cell phone...heck I don't even have cable.

Great that you had a date with Anna and that is was enjoyable.

Thanks for the long distance hugs. Sending one right backatcha. I have been meditating every day and it does help me to centre me somewhat. I prefer guided meditation so I will have to look into taking a new class.

Can't wait for the pics!

There's an iphone like TMobile phone? No way! I'm on t-mobile. And there's a cardio tracker for blackberry? NO WAY!! I'll have to get that. I'm very curious to know how far I walk in the morning. I think it's 3.5, but am not sure. Beej, thanks so much for complimenting my writing. I really think there's no cooler thing anyone could say to me than that (other than, 'you lost SOOO much weight'). Really appreciated it. What kind of calorie count do you think sushi has? I often buy two sushi rolls from Whole Foods on Friday afternoons but am not sure if they're super high calorie or an ok calorie amount. Have you ever asked about your rolls, and what kind do you eat (if you don't mind my asking)?

Hi Ish! Yeah, I kinda like all the stuff they have. We go to one of those conveyor-belt sushi places (feeds into my instant gratification bug). I love the salmon nigiri, the fried gyoza, the tekamaki (tuna roll), the mustard green roll, the pickled radish roll, the hamachi nigiri, and some others. I usually stay away from the California Rolls (though there's nothing wrong with them!). I'm sure it's not the healthiest of meals, but I don't really eat that much (maybe 5 or 6 plates over the course of 1/2 an hour), so I'm not too concerned. I'd be interested to know what the stats are, though. What about you? What do you like?
