For some reason, tonight I'm really getting a sense of how long this journey is. It's a life-long journey. I am so proud for how far I've come (though it really was only through the power of God that I came this far!). And I'm excited about where I'm going next. But I'm getting tired. I've been doing this for 13 months now, and I have like 750 more to go. *whew* That's a long time.
I'm almost to my maintenance phase.
I'm almost to the point where I can just focus on living healthy. I won't have to work my tail off to erase all of my hard work.
Of course, I'll just have to work my tail off to stay where I'll be at. But at least it will be somehting different. And I think I'm really ready for a change--so it's coming at a perfect time.
I actually have some good posts coming up (I hope--that they're good; and that they're coming!), so that should be fun. But that's tough, since I usually use my blog posts to do those boring old stats updates. And, to be honest, writing "real" posts takes so much more time! So maybe I'll work on doing one more detailed post a week. And I think once I get to my maintenance/toning-up phase, I'll stop with the twEATing and the daily exercise log. But I'm not there yet. So, here are the stats for my lazy day:

It is a bit overwhelming when we realize this is not just something we have to do for a year or two. At least it is overwhelming until it becomes us. Does that make sense? I don't think that happens until we hit maintenance phase though. We have to/need to find that sweet spot with exercise and eating along the way so once we get to the maintenance phase it is who we are.
You are doing great Beej! I am always amazed at your success.

I think when you realize it's a life long journey it opens the door to all sorts of new possibilities.

I'm googling this Bikram yoga stuff in SD. Will find a place to go try. Actually, I'm SURE there is one in LA.
Anyway, you know what? I kind of just epiphany'd. You won't BE working your ass off because all your work won't seem like work any more when you get into the habit. It's like doing Bikram. You love it now, you're used to it, so it won't feel like work! It'll just be doing stuff that you like!
I gave up in the past because I got sick of the journey, because I didn't actually LOVE the stuff I was doing. I was just doing it to shed the pounds. But obviously that mentally didn't stay. I'm doing it now because I love myself.
You'll put in the hard work because you love yourself, you love your lovely lady, and you love everything that you can and will be :)
