Today I came to the realization taht I still have a long way to come. I will be posting a gain this week. Could be 3-5 pounds. Why? I don't think my problem's my exercise. I think it's still my eating. This week hasn't been the best. Okay, let's be real--it's been pretty poor. I haven't been tracking my Calories. I haven't been keeping to my "No Eating after 8 pm" rule. I've been eating too much.
But I'm not beating myself up.
I'm not proud of myself. I'm not happy with myself. And I'm very disappointed.
But that was this week and I have many many more to come.
No, this isn't a wake-up call. This isn't a live and learn. No, I know better. And I need to be better. And I will be better. I will crack this 150 pounds lost milestone by the end of this month.
Sorry this took a negative turn. But seriously, this journey will never be easy, right?
Friday:
5 minutes on elliptical
15 minutes on stair stepper
15 minutes on exercise bike

I'm just starting and have already had a setback. What's most important is getting back in the saddle and getting the job done. Congrats on your determination!

Beej, I totally understand everything you said here. I also totally understand that both you and I are in this for the long haul. Setbacks are only temporary. Our plans are long-term.

Losing weight and keeping it off is a tough job! You are in it to win it though Beej and you will get to your 150 lost goal!!!

You are still doing well, you caught yourself, you didn't keep going. One bad week is only that a bad week. I plateaued from July-December last year and I did everything right, you just have to stay the course!
What I have noticed is that your exercise routine hasn't changed much over time, have you thought about say dumping the elliptical for a month and enjoying your bike then bringing the elliptical back in so your body is not used to it? When I worked with a personal trainer they had me change things up every 6-8 weeks and it really helped keep things fresh and the weight coming off.

Well...I think you are smart enough to figure this one out for yourself (and certainly, our fellow bloggers have already piped up and shared much wisdom). In other words, as Channing Pollock once said: "No man in the world has more courage than the man who can stop after eating one peanut."

Beej, everything you said here is so true. I'm so glad you're not beating yourself up over it even though you ARE acknowledging it and wanting to do better. I know you can, and I know you will.
