Eating Intuitively Project

Thats right.  I may have a Triathalon to train for, but I also have this whole "healthy living" thing going on.  Not a diet.  Not a fad.  Not a flash in the pan.  Nope.  A healthy lifestyle.  A long and healthy life.  And I know I can't do the whole counting Calories thing.  So I need to learn how to eat for life.  I need to learn how to eat like I know what I'm doing.  I really think that I need to look at things in a different light.  Kinda like how Steve does, with his "weight-loss portions" and "maintenance portions" classification.  I know how much I should eat--I just need to eat that way.  Maybe soon, I'll be posting my eating like that.

What about you?  How do you track the intake?

I wish I felt like I was a good example of this. I do think you are right though, if we can't intuitively discern weight loss, maintenance, and weight gain portions, then we have a tough road ahead of us.

Right now I'm tracking on SparkPeople since I'm easing into a new "phase" of my eating plan. Once I'm sure I have a handle on how much I need to be eating, I'll quit tracking every day and just track now and then as a check/balance kind of thing. I definitely don't want to have to track my food every day for the rest of my life! I do want to be aware and mindful about what I'm eating, so that will be a goal of mine whether I'm tracking or not.
