Week 49

Weight: 229.4
Weekly loss: 3.4
Total weight lost: 139
Average Weekly Loss: 2.84

I kept up my average, and now I'm under 230!!!  I'm in the 220's.  That's ridiculous!  And I didn't push it either.  I did a little more than my recent normal, but I didn't go overboard.  Sweet!  I'm going to try keeping up this routine this week--maybe add some more sit ups and push ups.

I'm super happy, but scared to see if I bump back up.  You know, with each 10-milestone, I realize that I never want to get that high again, so precariously under 230 isn't comfortable.  I need to be at 225 or something to feel a little safer.  That'll have to wait a couple of weeks, though.

Funny, too that this is my 230th post, and I'm under 230 pounds!

Perfect 10: Final Week & Weekend Warrior Challenge

I'd like to first of all say thanks to RMAX International for sponsoring this challenge, and for Steve for not only creating the Perfect 10, but also for hosting it and holding us accountable to it--even though he went through a great personal tragedy.

- Walk 12 miles a week (done)
- Do front (2x60) and side (1x30/side) planks 3 days a week. (done)
- Keep on our budget. (done)
- Hit and exceed my initial weight loss goal--and start a new one. (done)
- Read 4 books (done)
- Only use my horn for avoiding traffic collisions. (done)
- Cook dinner at home 4 times a week (done)
- Go on 3 hikes (missed--only went on one)

Interesting Tidbit: Friday the 13th is a lucky day for me and our family. My parents were married on the 13th. They bought their first house on the 13th. My oldest brother was born early on the morning of the 14th. And, to top it all off? My twin brother and I were born on Friday the 13th! That's lucky for me, I'd say! So yeah, I'm not too supersticious.

Weekend Warrior Challenge Goals:

  1. Create a healthy recipe for Beef Jerky. Is this cheating?
  2. Run in the St. Patrick's Day Dash. And complete it in under 40:00.
  3. Limit myself to 2,400 Calories on Saturday & Sunday. I sucked this up last week, so I'd like to make sure I succeed this weekend.

Purging

So, Anna and I finally were able to take a little time to clean out our closets. Anna cleaned out her rack because she had clothes she just didn't wear anymore. I cleaned out my rack because I had clothes that I just couldn't wear. I still had a lot of clothes from before I started this journey 135 pounds ago. So, Here are some before and after pictures of my rack (think I need to get more clothes now??):

BEFORE

AFTER

And here's the amount we donated to Goodwill. Think we need to simplify our lives?

Onto another act of purging: drinking water. Jack Sh*t had a post on tips to help you drink more water. Funny stuff, but it got me thinking about how much water I drink. I know I drink a lot of water (other than 1 cup of coffee a day, all I drink is water), but I had never counted it. At work, I had 6 glasses of water (each glass is 24 ounces--I actually took pictures of each glass of water, but I deleted them before sending them from my phone to my email--dumb, huh?). Then, when I got home, I had these two glasses of water:

Each one is 60 ounces. That means that I'm sitting here, typing this having consumed 28 cups of water. Or 224 ounces. Or 1.75 Gallons. And that's less than usual--I'd usually have another 2 "home glasses" of water. That's a lot of purging going on. Oh yeah, I also have two "home glasses" of water throughout the night. What can I say? I LOVE H20! What about you? Do you find that you love water or do you have to force yourself to drink it?

How I work Out

Yesterday, Rob asked me about my workouts & my intensity level. So, tonight, I thought I would give an example of my daily exercise.

5:30 a.m.
I'm not too good at this, but I'd like to (and did today) start my morning off with my 30 situps and 15 pushups--and eventually my planks.

9 a.m.
This is my main cardio session. I usually start with the stationary bike. I'm now doing 12 minutes (an hour a week). And I try to do at least 3.5 miles.  I try to be at about level 10-12

If I didn't do my planks, I do those here, as well as my muscle-building session (when I do them).

Next, I do the stairstepper (I need to do it early, becuase if I don't, I get too tired to hit my goal). On the stairstepper, I always do 10 minutes. More than that is too much for me. I used to try to hit 200 Calories. Then 300. But I decided to work on a different goal--one that wasn't Calorie based (since I would find it harder and harder to hit my goals as I lost weight). Now, I try to hit 100 floors a session.

If you look at the middle of the top row of numbers, you can see that I'm at 102 floors.  Yikes!

Here's what the stairstepper looks like when I'm done with it.  Please note the glistening case (just know that the case is regularly matte-finished.  Yeah, that's sweat).  And, yes, those are the sweat droplets on the floor.  Good times.

Then it's on to my longest friend: the elliptial. I now do 12 minutes (an hour a week). And I use this a little to do cool down, but I also try to do some real work. At least 160 Calories (I need to find a better goal on the elliptical!). I usually alternate between level 13 and level 17.

And that's the end of my workout. And I usually look like this:

6 p.m.
Most days (or as often as I can), I wrap up my day with an evening walk/run. And I try to go at least 3 miles, and sometimes 5 (if I'm feeling that up to it):

And that's my typical workout.  How do you push yourself?

Wednesday:
12 minutes on elliptical
12 minutes on stair stepper
10 minutes on exercise bike

The Best

Some times it's really hard to think about what I want to talk about. Other times, it's easy. Today? It's easy. I want to talk about one of the best bloggers I know. He's an inspiration both for how to lose weight and how to keep it off. Not only that, but he also had a tragic loss--and is pushing through. And that's almost more of an inspiration than most things. Of course, you all know who I'm talking about. And you all probably thought of the same person. That person is Steve! And he does posts every day. And he does video posts twice a week. This week's video was awesome--definitely his best. If you haven't seen it, go over here and checck it out. And if you don't already follow him, you should. Be inspired.
