Yes, it's that time of year again, here in the Northwest.  Time for Seafair and the Blue Angles!

But no, that's not what we'll be doing.  In fact, we'll be having our annual family and friends weekend.  And it almost always ends up being the same weekend as the Blue Angels.  It'll be about 16 hours a day of hanging out with relaitives and friends, playing games, and eating food.  But I'll do my best not to indulge.  It's hard.  Because I usually do so much inattentive eating.  So I'll have to come in with a plan.  Maybe I take pictures of everything I eat?  Or just a list.  Not sure if I'll even post pictures or a list.

But I will deffinitely be more mindful this weekend.  Hope you do the same.

Hi Beej,

I am glad to see you are planning a fun event with family and friends. I wanted to respond to your last posting when I read it. I'm so sorry for that entire situation -- tragic for the person involved, but also for you to have witnessed it. For all of life's blessings, there is a lot of darkness always around us. I guess the trick is let your light shine so brightly it never works its way in. I am so glad that you have connected to your light; possibly you shine even brighter than ever since you have had your own dark period. As the great Lebanese poet (almost as great as you ;-) Khalil Gibran once wrote: "The deeper sorrow carves into your being the more joy you can contain."

I hoep today went well Beej. The pictures seems like a good idea. It is one way to stay very accountable.

BTW, we sure enjoyed seeing the Blue Angels earlier this year. For us, it is a once in a decade or more opportunity for it to happen so close.

I love the Blue Angels. They are in SF in early fall. It is fun to see them practice. Hope you had a good day yesterday!mout

Hi Beej,

I was so sorry to read about the terrible experience you and your colleagues have.

I wish peace and forgiveness for the family of the man who took his life. Sometimes I think it feels like it would be easier to kill yourself so no one has to deal with you or your problems. And sometimes when you are thinking that way you can't see an alternative.

Does your company have EAP in case you need to talk to anyone?

Hugs and I hope you were able to enjoy the weekend.
