2004-2010 (or the last 7 years)

So, I've got to admit.  I've been pretty bummed recently.  This is really probably the point in my journey where I'm getting really tired.  No, I'm not in a quitting mood, I'm just exhausted.  And I want to relax.  But I know this is my life.  And it's a good life.

In order to jump start myself, I thought it would be a great idea to reflect on how far I've come in the last 15 months; on how much I've actually changed.  So, here are pictures from each of the last 7 years to show (mostly me, but also all of you) just how much I have grown shrunk:

Notice how I'm wearing the same shirt in like half of my photos?  Yeah, when you're fat, you try to make your shirts last as long as possible!  In the first 5 pictures, I'm in a XXL.  In the 2009 picture, I'm in a XXXL.  Now, in 2010, I'm in a Large (and sometimes a Medium).  That's progress.  Who cares if I gain and lose 5 pounds over the next couple of months--I'm getting used to this new normal!

Hi Beej! I'm so glad you posted this -- it's very inspirational and really you should be incredibly proud of yourself.

Notes from an outside observer here: in your current pictures you look amazingly fit, very trim, much younger than in some of your earlier pics, and really really happy. I'm sure you have a weight goal in mind and all that, and I'm not trying to talk you out of it.

But keep in mind that to the outside eye, you just look totally fantastically great. I can't see an extra 5 lbs anywhere.

But in anycase, who would zero in on anything like that when the overall picture you present is one of such positive, youthful happiness and health?

AMAZING progress! I hope the photos help with a lackadaisical feelings you're experiencing at the moment and you get your enthusiasm back where it should rightfully be! :o)

VERY proud of you!

Gosh darn it Beej! I didn't realize you were so bummed. I thought you had bloggeritis, but now I understand.

The journey in pictures is really a tremendous validation of all the great work you have done for your physical body.

I am so inspired by your changes!

I also love how you rock a 'fro!

Hang in there. Hugs!

Beej, I didn't know you were in a funk. But what a GREAT post (even if it was motivated by feeling...blah?). Your photos are super fun to look at - you have INDEED come so far! Congratulations, and try to ENJOY learning your new normal.
