Yoga Update

Okay, gang. I'm sure you're getting tired of these update, but I'm having fun talking about how I adapt to Bikram Yoga as I get used to it. I seriously toyed with the idea of titling this post "Namaste?" or something. I know, not very creative, but it is funny how I'm starting to like it. No, we still won't be going after our introductory period, but it's not so hard to get through anymore.

I find that I'm getting used to the routine. In Bikram, they do the same 26 poses twice. Some people might not like to do the same thing over and over again, but I'm finding that I can gauge how I'm doing by where I get tired. And this time I did much better! I actually did all but one of the poses (and with it being 26 poses twice, that's almost a 98% completion rate). Of course, there's no danger of my body getting used to the poses--I'm barely even scratching the surface of how far I can take each pose. I'm not nearly flexible enough to do all the poses full-bore. Right now I'm just working on doing all the poses--we have like 17 more times we can go to worry about the depth I take everything.

Oh, and the heat? Really not as bad as it was. I'm adjusting, I guess. But really, when we do the Trikonasana "Triangle Pose," there was literally a stream of sweat pouring down my leg. And yes, it was sweat. Promise!

I just love that you are enjoying the yoga...maybe after the intro is done you can find somewhere reasonably priced to continue.

I'm going to have to find a place that does this hot yoga Bikram stuff and give it a try. I'm all for trying new things and this sounds pretty fun. I like sweating. As for yoga poses, well bring it on. The only thing that is hard for me about yoga is that the classes are usually SO early in the morning. I'll put it on my list of things to do though. At least once.
