bar, agave, challenge

Okay, so I'll take these in the opposite order.

Challenge. Not usually a fan of challenges, Mary is trying to get back into the the habit of being in the gym. And she's pledged to workout 30 seconds for each comment she gets. Even repeat comments. Even her comments! And people are joining her. Josie has. Steve has. Jen has. I have. Hehe! So, sure, leave a comment here, but also go to Mary's blog and help her kick her own butt! Fun challenge, huh?

Agave. Apparently, this super sweetener isn't all it's cracked up to be. It may even be worse than High Fructose Corn Syrup! Wow. Not sure what to think. Kim? Steve? Thoughts?

Bar. Here is my new workout tool.

Huh? What? Okay, so really, it doesn't look like much. But, according to my dad (or really my memory of what he said once...), this is part--or all--of a propeller shaft from a yacht. We actually used to use this for breaking up concrete and pry up heavy things. It's about 6 feet long. It's about 1.5 inches in diameter. And it weights freaking 40 pounds! I'll be using this to do curls, twists, lunges, squats, and everything I can think of. I'm not a huge fan of weight machines (especially because I have such limited time in my work gym), so this should be fun. Now, I have to actually USE the dang thing! Pretty cool, though, huh?

First off, I love the bar! That reminds me of a bar I used to have to do a lot of work with at a former job. Wasn't much fun then, but I would love to have the bar now. :-)

Second, that story on agave is interesting. I need to read more on it and do some cross checking. That goes against what I have been told and assumed (yes, assuming is dangerous). All that being said, I haven't been that impressed with agave as a sweetener overall. Not because it isn't sweet or tasty, but because it just doesn't sweeten the things I want sweetened in the way I want them sweetened. It ranks up there with honey for me.

That thing weights 40 pounds?! Wow!

Kudos for joining in on the challenge...it's pretty awesome when you think of it...so many people running/jogging/walking all for the same thing all over the country (no wait, world, since Kepa joined in too).

WooT!

Thanks for joining the challenge. I normally don't like challenges but this is turning into something cool and motivating. :)

That bar is 40 lbs? Crazy.

Sheesh. That bar is deceptively heavy! Have fun with it. And good luck with the challenge. I'm not much for challenges myself, but I think they can definitely be good if the people doing it are excited about it!

Love the bar. Just make sure you have a lot of room so nothing gets broken.

Even after reading the article I am fine with agave. The only time I eat it is when I have ketchup.

I never know what to think when I read good/bad articles about certain things. I just try to see how it makes my body feels and go with that.

Off to make some more comments...let's work it out everybody!
