Beej's Beef Jerky

Okay, so it's just my first time playing with it, but I was able to buy a Jerky Xpress Food Dehydrator for only $20 at my local Fred Meyer.  That's $30 off the normal price--60% off!

I love beefy jerky, but it's so dang salty, and often too sweet for my tastes.  So I tried to make my own recipe.  It turned out okay, but I'll be tweaking it next batch (which I'll make on Saturday).  I'll post the recipe once it's finalized, but it's getting close (I just have to find out a way to cut down the Lite Soy Sauce even more).  I love experimenting!

Hey, yea, please share the recipe once you've perfected it! My mother in law makes the.best.teriyaki jerky ever. She sends it to us ALL THE TIME. It'd be so much easier to resist if I knew how to make some of my own ya know?

Hey, good idea on the challenge challenge! I laughed out loud at suggexercises! You're doing fantastic, hopefully these challenges will give you the push you need to cross goal!

I would be interested in the recipe too. I have not made homemade beef jerky before, but I love eating it, so I need to learn to make it.

I'll hold off on my suggestions until I see Tabata Jacks fall off the list. :-)

One serving is about 2 1/4 cups and 320 calories 6g fat. Pretty sweet deal as its also really filling.

I already have my next one lined up, I think. But I'll wait until other suggestions go first -- can't hog all the fun for myself!
