Again, I am so amazed by the servant's attitude my dad has.  He just does and does and does for his five boys (and 4 daughters-in-law--one more to join next year!).  Now it looks as though we may finish the kitchen remodel tomorrow night (but keep in mind that we're not redoing the flooring and the cabinets just yet).  But it won't be my doing (though I did at lot at the beginning, and a bit from then on); nope, it'll be all my dad.  He's probably put in 20 or so hours on the place this week alone!  I feel so blessed.  I did feel guilty at the beginning, since right now he's doing way more on the kitchen than I am, but I realized that my dad's Love Language is Acts of Service.  So, instead of feeling guilty, I'm feeling grateful.  So very blessed.  Looks like I might be able to cross off that goal on my list, but only because someone else did most of the work for me (in a little way, it reminds me of my salvation through Christ, you know?).  And I may have pictures up this weekend (we'll see, though!).

I'm just now going to be (11:30 p.m.), and I'm not a night owl, so I'm pretty tired.  I was up late working on my snacks for Halloween tomorrow at my work.  I'm sure I won't win, and next year, I may not make anything (it's so much work), but it sure is a lot of fun to play around with recipes!

Beej, it is great to see you put it this way. All too often we feel bad when someone does something for us, but most of the time they are doing it because that is their thing -- their way to express their love.

Make it a great day!

Hey Beej,

Your dad sounds like a really great guy. I think for our parents (for any parent) there's no greater joy than helping your kids. And how nice that he lives close enough that you two can work on projects together. It's a blessing for you both in many ways. I'm glad you are getting past the guilt and just feeling the love - I'm sure your dad doesn't want you feeling bad about his help. And thanks for your comment on my blog -- actually made me laugh out loud, which was really needed yesterday. Cheers!

How awesome for you! So many people never know a father's love (that's father with a lower case f), so we live vicariously through those that do. I'd love to see the pictures, too!

Oh, and what did you make for the treats?

I hope you like it, Yum Yucky!

Josie, you're so right that I'm blessed to have such a loving lower-case father. The worst part is that for many people, their view of God is directly influenced by their relationship with their earthly father. That can be good or bad, but it is almost always a skewed view.
