Late Day

Late day at work. I got into the office at 6:45 this morning. I left at 7:15 this evening. I was at my desk for all that time other than to get copies, water, use the bathroom, and workout in the gym for an hour. Long day. And I’m still not even caught up—still 33 follow-ups! It’s so funny how I never learn. I come in to work all refreshed, thinking that I’ll be able to get caught up. Why do I forget that new requests and issues come in throughout the day? No matter. I love my job. I love helping my clients out. I just despise leaving work and not completing everything—I don’t like coming into work with things already on my plate. Perhaps I’ll be able to buckle down and clear my plate tomorrow (though I’ll only be there until 2 because Anna and I are playing “family” this weekend: we’re babysitting one of our nieces and nephews all for Saturday and Sunday night). We’ll see. Regardless, I’ll certainly have to have a good attitude.

Here are my totals from today:

Thursday:
1- 30 minute session on the Elliptical
1- 15 minute session on the Treadmill
1.6- 5 minute sessions on the Stairmaster (trying to make it up to 5 for the week, but I started a day late...)
1- 3 mile walk
30 sit ups
Read the Bible
Prayed

Total:
4- 30 minute sessions on the Elliptical
4- 15 minute sessions on the Treadmill
4- 5 minute sessions on the Stairmaster
3- 3 mile walks
210 sit ups
2- 60 second planks
Read Bible Daily
Prayed Daily
Went on a date with Anna

Remaining:

1- 15 minute session on the Treadmill
1- 5 minute session on the Stairmaster

Oh I can so relate. My desk is just piled with papers right now. This week I have often stayed late only to never make any headway. Even today I am negotiating the amount of time I will need to spend at work over the weekend. This is a normal pattern because the job is never finished there is always something to do. My big question now is how do I fit exercise into an already busy day? Well you just do it, right? So during lunch I played tetherball tennis and went for a walk with a friend. I’ll up the intensity as I get a grasp on all of these new choices.
Keeping it simple.

Beej, I can totally sympathize with this right now. My work is also very busy. For me, I have to leave at a certain point or my effectiveness goes down the drain.

I hope you and Anna have fun playing family this weekend. I am sure you all do a great job with it.

It looks like you are well on track to achieve your goals. Make it a great day!
