Busy (good) Month

The summer is usually pretty busy, what, with vacations, family reunions, etc.  And August is usually the worst.  So Anna and I were looking forward to having a calm September.  Not gonna happen.  This week, for example, consists of our Portland trip (Sat-Mon), my wife's FIG group (Tues), couple's small group (Wed), and dinner with in-laws (Thurs).  Those are all great things.  Love them.  And tonight was a blast!  We had my mom (actually my mother-in-law, but I cal her my mom, since my biological one passed away in 08) and my wife's cousin over for dinner.  Anna planned the meal and I executed it: Chicken Piccata, Mashed Sweet Potato w/ Caramelized Onions, Green Beans w/ Chinese Sausage and Diced Jalapenos, Sliced Heirloom Tomatoes, and Crusty Bread.  So delicious!  And mostly healthy.  And Anna's cousin, Jen, was great to see.  She lives in DC, and we haven't seen her for a while.  So it was/will be a late night of catching up...

We're both (Anna and I) looking forward to tomorrow night, when we'll be able to relax.  Maybe.  Of course, I know I won't be able to meet all my goals (no way I'll be able to jump rope for 20 minutes!).

Your not doing too bad on your goals for the week. Maybe the jump rope will be the only one you don't complete.

The meal, by the way, sounds awesome. It is making me want to get a sweet potato on the way home this evening.

It sounds like a good month with family and friends. What more can you ask for?

Mmmm, that meal sounded awesome...oh wait, it WAS awesome; I ate it! Thanks for a fantastic dinner - especially when it's topped off with homemade mango sorbet! It was great to catch up with both of you.
